Aceo Profile
Headquartered at the site of the old Coleburn distillery since 2014, Aceo makes use of the plant’s former warehouses for its own cask storage, and offers services including brokering of casks, storage and a full bottling and labelling service.
It bottles blended and single malt whiskies, although the majority of its output is for private customers. It currently owns independent bottler Murray McDavid, as well as Coleburn Distillery Ltd., which owns the Coleburn brand name, and Parkmore Distillery Company Ltd, which owns the Parkmore brand name.
Aceo History
Aceo was founded in 1999 by managing director Edward Odim at Hillside Farm in Rodley, Gloucestershire. In 2013 it acquired independent bottler Murray McDavid from the owners of Bruichladdich distillery on Islay. In the same year it also secured a 25-year lease to utilise the dormant warehouses at the silent Coleburn distillery for the maturation of its own stocks and as the headquarters for its new business.
Upon its acquisition of Murray McDavid, Odim swore to uphold its founders’ vision to bottle single malts without chill-filtration or colour.
Aceo and Murray McDavid are run as two separate businesses.
